LEIGH WESTIN comes to the Board with a lifelong interest in geocosmology and career experience in university education, publication development, product marketing and management and organizational development. Her academic training includes a B.S in Education, and two Master Degrees, Management and General Counseling.
An early interest in astronomy brought Leigh to geocosmic studies in the 60s, earning the Diploma from the Faculty of Astrological Studies under the tutelage of the well-known Jeff Mayo in 1972. Early on she taught astrology in junior colleges, first in Illinois, then in Washington State. Through the years Leigh wrote for many publications, served on the faculty of many conferences (NCGR, AFA, UAC) and eventually came to focus on declination research. Her first book, Beyond the Solstice by Declination was published in 2000 and she holds NCGR certification in Research.
Currently Leigh is the editor of the popular Declination SIG quarterly publication, The Other Dimension , teaches advanced declination for Online College and continues to publish her research results.
In 2003, Leigh had the honor of being asked to serve as a Regional Coordinator prior to being appointed to NCGR Board to fulfill the term of the former Director, Priscilla Costello. In 2005, she was formally elected by the NCGR membership and continues to be honored to serve as Director of Chapter Affairs and Development, a position she considers to be critical to the national organization.
“Our Chapters are the grassroots backbone of NCGR. This is where the initial action exists, where the networking begins, and where the local community is served by meeting the needs of the individual. It is critical to the profession that the astrological community continues to grow. Thus, it follows that the growth and success of NCGR Chapters offer a prominent contribution to the positive overall influence of our craft. With assistance of the talented team of our Regional Coordinators, my objective is that together, we provide the support to further help our Chapters flourish.”
