Madalyn Hillis-Dineen, NCGR Chair
Message from the Chair

Hello, members and friends of NCGR

I am Madalyn Hillis-Dineen, the current elected Chair of National Council for Geocosmic Research, Inc. Welcome to our web site! We hope that you will stay awhile, learn a bit about us and what we do, and check back often to see what's new.

NCGR is a non-profit organization incorporated in Massachusetts in 1971. Our purpose is to encourage and facilitate education and research into the cycles of correspondence between earth (geo) and cosmos. In short, we are interested in the serious study of astrology. We seek to increase public understanding of astrology and facilitate quality, comprehensive education in the field. Although it is not necessary to be an astrologer to be a member of NCGR, many of our members are professional astrologers. NCGR is one of the largest of astrological professional organizations, with currently 42 local Chapters and also a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs), not bound by geographical area but instead linked via email and newsletters by mutual interest in an astrological specialty. Chapters and SIGs offer opportunities for networking, and educational as well as social contacts with others who share your interests. We also offer opportunities to share information through our Email Lists and Research Forum, and we invite your Interactive feedback on survey questions about astrology. Links to other related sites are recommended Resources.

NCGR is best known within the international astrological community for its Education Program. Highly respected for its comprehensive curriculum, its rigorous academic standards and its integrity of implementation, the program offers four levels of testing. Our member astrological professionals are guided by a Code of Ethics carefully written with the protection of clients as a paramount concern. Those who complete our four levels of testing have a proven high level of competence and we are proud to present them to you as Certified Astrologers. NCGR's Publications Department produces fine magazines that are highly valued as permanent bookshelf references and an informative newsletter, as well as supplementary publications and tapes of conference lectures. Geocosmic Journal and Memberletter are free to members. A number of interesting articles can be read on this site, and non-members may purchase back issues and other materials: see Shopping. Our national board and I, the currently elected Chair, and our Executive Director welcome your questions and your feedback.

Enjoy surfing our site! I feel sure that you will find information that is interesting and useful to you. Check back often, and if you're not yet a member, we hope you'll decide to Join NCGR!
